全盲のピアニスト 辻井伸行さんが国際ピアノコンクールで優勝の記事

今日は久々のニュースネタです。
TVで観た方も多いと思いますが、全盲のピアニストである
辻井伸行さんが、アメリカの国際ピアノコンクール
「バン・クライバーン国際ピアノ・コンクール」で優勝しました。

ヴァン・クライバーン国際ピアノコンクールは原則として4年に1回行われるようです。
開催地は開催地はテキサス州フォートワース。
個人的にはピアノコンクールと聞くと、
やはりヨーロッパが主流なイメージを持っていますが、
それでもこの優勝は快挙ですね。

Two Cliburn Winners For only the second time in its 47-year history, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition has ended in a tie. On Sunday, the Van Cliburn Foundation announced in Fort Worth that it had awarded the top prizes to Nobuyuki Tsujii, 20, of Japan (right, with Mr. Cliburn) and Haochen Zhang, 19, of China. Both performers will receive the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass gold medal and cash awards of $20,000, as well as concert tours for the three seasons, recording contracts and performance attire. Mr. Tsujii and Mr. Zhang were the youngest pianists in the competition, as well as its first winners from Asia. This year’s silver medal was awarded to Yeol Eum Son of South Korea.

題名は2人の優勝者。しかも本文では盲目であることは一切触れていません。またアジアの競技者が優勝を争ってます。日本と世界では、伝えられ方が全然違いますね。
